Loris Henry, California
An Australian by birth, Loris traveled abroad and obtained her BHS certificate at Burton Hall in Ireland. She married an American and has lived in Fresno for many years. Loris was very involved in the early years of CDS, serving as a Regional Director and then as CDS President from 1984-86, during which time she worked on several USDF committees, and more recently their new Strategic Plan. She has served as a Director of AHSA and a Trustee for USET.
In the early 90s her 2 daughters, both U.S. Pony Clubbers, were competing in Eventing and at the NAYRC level, and she became involved with USEA. Loris served on their board for 10 years taking offices such as Vice President of Membership, then VP of Area Affairs and during the last 3 years of her tenure as their first woman President. She currently serves on the USEF Eventing Committee, the USEA Officials Committee and is a panelist for Continuing Education programs and the Training program for new Eventing officials.
Loris is a USDF Silver medalist and holds a USEF “S” Dressage License, an “R” Eventing license and an FEI “I” Eventing license. She is a past Director of Equestrian Land Conservation and currently is a Director for the Monterey Horse Park, in California, which, although in its infancy, will be a legacy for future generations of equestrians.
