Eric Noel, Oregon
Eric Noel has been judging show jumping at major horse shows, grand prix, and events throughout the United States since 1989. He began his horse career as one of the three members of Oregon's first Pony Club, and Evented regularly throughout the Pacific Northwest until shifting his focus to show jumping. As an amateur, Noel rode to numerous championships in the jumper division. After a ten-year career as a paramedic, where he provided medical coverage to horse shows and events, Noel became a full time professional horseman in 1989 when he opened the Vancouver Riding Academy in Vancouver, Washington.
He received his judging licenses from the AHSA (now the USEF) in 1988, and was promoted to Registered status in 1992. When not judging, Noel (and his dog Roxy) train hunters, jumpers, and equitation riders at his business, The Chase, near Portland, Oregon. He also operates Post Entry Horse Show Management, providing horse show management software throughout the U.S. and Canada. As a Registered Jumper Judge and former Eventing competitor, Noel particularly enjoys judging the show jumping test at Three Day Events, and does so whenever his busy schedule permits.
